The Career Centre hosts several different application forms for students, based on the nature of summer student work that the Government of Saskatchewan offers. The questions contained in each application form are customized to the nature of the work. Students can submit one or multiple application forms depending on their interests, qualifications, and experience.
As a summer student job becomes available, the hiring manager submits a Taleo requisition to the Summer Student Program Coordinator. The hiring manager provides an overview of the position, competencies required, and desired answers to prescreening questions. The Summer Student Program Coordinator searches Taleo for students whose applications match the position's requirements, based on the competencies and prescreening questions, and refers the students to the hiring manager for consideration.
Hiring Managers work directly with the educational institutions (University of Regina, University of Saskatchewan, and Saskatchewan Polytech) to obtain Co-op students.
Taleo is not used to advertise Co-op opportunities; however, it is used for hiring the selected student so that the Online Commencement Process can be used. Instructions are available in the Student Employment Guide.
Hiring Managers sometimes use Taleo to advertise a student-less-than-full-time opportunity. Contact the Summer Student Program Coordinator at student.summer@gov.sk.ca for assistance.
If converting a student between the different student programs, Taleo is typically not part of the process, but may be used in order to obtain approvals.
If hiring a student less-than-full-time who is not already an active employee, Taleo is used so that the Online Commencement Process can be used. Instructions are available in the Student Employment Guide.
The correct Business Partner Team Letter must be selected in the User Group field. If you receive an error related to the User Group when saving your competition, please contact the HR Service Centre at 306-798-0000 or Staffing@gov.sk.ca.

Hiring Managers submit a Taleo requisition to the Summer Student Program Coordinator, who searches for candidates who match the position's requirements. To ensure you receive candidates who meet your needs, ensure the following:
Hiring Managers work directly with the educational institutions (University of Regina, University of Saskatchewan, and Saskatchewan Polytech) to obtain Co-op students.
Taleo is typically not used to hire co-op students. If it is used, it is strictly for purposes of obtaining ministry approval and (sometimes) producing the Commencement document.
Hiring Managers sometimes use Taleo to advertise a student-less-than-full-time opportunity. In that case, ensure the Advertisement, Competencies, and Prescreening Questions are completed appropriately, as candidates will apply directly to the job posting.
If converting a student between the different student programs, Taleo is typically not part of the process, but may be used in order to obtain approvals.
