The Corporate Mentorship Program offers an opportunity for employees and managers to build relationships and focus on career and professional development.
Mentoring in the workplace provides many benefits to the employees involved.
Mentorship is based on a trust relationship in which the mentor invests time and effort to enhance the mentee’s growth by sharing knowledge, experience and perspectives. It also provides the opportunity for mentors to enhance their own leadership skills and contribute to the development of the next generation of leaders.
How to Apply
Employees at all levels of Government are invited to participate in the Corporate Mentorship Program as mentees.
All out-of-scope employees and in-scope employees level 10 and above are welcome to become mentors, with approval from their immediate supervisors.
To apply:
Application Dates
- Registration for the 2025/26 Corporate Mentorship Program will open on May 27, 2025.
- The deadline to register is July 18, 2025.
- The program launch event will take place on October 7, 2025. More details about the launch event will be shared in the coming months.
Profile Questionnaire
The mandatory questionnaire provides the required information to determine your eligibility and compatibility for being matched. The more detail that is provided on the questionnaire, the better your chances for finding the best match. The Profile Questionnaire should take you approximately 15 minutes to complete. Please note that any question marked with an asterisk is mandatory for completion.
If you are interested in requesting a partnership with an employee from a diversity group, or with any other considerations, please ensure these questions on the questionnaire are answered with as much detail as possible.
Once registration closes on July 18, the matching process will begin and all mentees/mentors who are being recommended for a match will be emailed individually. The matching process will continue up until the Launch event.
Mentorship Program Expectations
While the Mentorship Program is beneficial for both the mentor and mentee, the program is primarily driven by the mentee and is based on their goals and objectives.
Expectations for each role are explained in the Mentorship Program Expectations and should be reviewed before a Mentorship Approval Form is submitted. Participants can also review the Mentorship Handbook and Question and Answer document.
Throughout the eight-month relationship, mentors and mentees require a minimum commitment of two hours per month. It is recommended that the mentor and mentee commit to a monthly session (face-to-face, phone call, video conference, etc.) and commit to preparing in advance for the mentoring session.
Self-Matching and Additional Opportunities
If there is someone specific you are interested in mentoring or being mentored by, you are to reach out directly to your potential partner. If both parties agree to being matched, you will be required to email mentorship@gov.sk.ca with both the mentee’s and mentor’s acknowledgement and fill out the profile questionnaire.
The program also allows engineer-specific matches for engineers working towards their Professional Engineer designation from the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan. If you are a part of this designation, please ensure these details are indicated on your profile questionnaire.
Introducing Group Mentorship in the Corporate Mentorship Program
The Corporate Mentorship Program is evolving to offer a new group mentorship option. This option provides employees with an additional way to connect, learn and grow within a structured group setting.
What is Group Mentorship?
Group mentorship brings together one mentor and three mentees to foster collaborative learning, knowledge sharing and professional growth. It complements the traditional one-on-one mentorship model and offers participants the opportunity to:
- Gain diverse perspectives from peers in similar roles or with shared interests.
- Learn in a supportive environment while building a strong professional network.
How to Participate
When completing the Mentorship Program Profile Questionnaire, employees can select:
- One-on-One Mentorship
- Group Mentorship
- Either (Participants choosing this option will be placed in a group if a one-on-one match isn’t available).
How it Works
Mentees and mentors will be matched into small groups based on career stage, job role or professional development goals. Each group will meet monthly using one of two mentorship structures prescribed:
- Hybrid Model – Mix of group and one-on-one meetings
- Fully Group-Based Model – Monthly group meetings
Groups are also free to create a model/structure that works for them.
