Purpose
It is in the interests of the employer and the employee that the employee provides sufficient notice when they resign. This policy provides a guideline for what is sufficient notice.
Policy
- A permanent out-of-scope employee who wishes to resign typically provides a minimum of 30 days written notice unless otherwise agreed upon.
- An out-of-scope employee on initial probation who wishes to resign typically provides a minimum of 7 days written notice unless otherwise agreed upon.
- An out-of-scope non-permanent employee who wishes to resign typically provides a minimum of 7 days written notice unless otherwise agreed upon.
- An out-of-scope employee who fails to give the required written notice effective the date that they absent themselves without leave will be deemed to have resigned and will be removed from the payroll.
